Jeanette practices living a simple, balanced and adventurous
life.
At Soulfire Yoga, Jeanette provides flexible, varied and engaging yoga programs
for individuals and groups in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. Jeanette is also a civil rights attorney on the side. In all
things, she strives to be free and help others be free.
Jeanette turned to yoga after dancing for many years. She discovered that yoga inspired her to find freedom and release in more subtle and deeper ways than she could before. Jeanette received her initial 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training at the Shambhava School of Yoga in the mountains of Colorado in 2007. There, she deepened her understanding of yoga and learned how to share it with others.
After Jeanette started teaching, the path soon led her to Prana Flow, a transformational vinyasa practice created by Shiva Rea. Under the mentorship of Maria Garre, Jeanette is working towards completing her 300 hour certification in Prana Flow.
Jeanette
teaches vinyasa yoga in the Prana Flow style and enjoys creating playful
movement based practices that help connect students back to themselves, all
with a little sense of humor. Jeanette is
most interested in creating yoga practices that connect our modern
city-dwelling selves back to the natural cycles of life – to the seasons, the
weather, to the basic elements.
Jeanette
believes that by reconnecting the world outside to the world inside, you see
that everything is one, and in this knowing, you can’t help but let your light
