Vajra and Christina are yoga practitioners committed to living in spirit, simplicity and community.
Vajra has been practicing Yoga for over 12 years. Inspired by Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice, Vajra was led to Naropa University where he graduated with a degree in Traditional Eastern Arts and Yoga.
Christina is a yoga practitioner with a deep commitment to empowering marginalized communities. She holds a Masters in Urban Policy and served in the White House for the Clinton and Obama Administrations. She left her political career to deepen her connection with the Yoga tradition and to provide yoga and meditation therapy to survivors of human trafficking in South India.
Vajra and Christina met in 2007 at a Yoga Journal Magazine conference in Colorado. Now, residing on the island of Kauai, they are living their passion through their business called Yoga on Kauai. Together, they host weeklong yoga retreats throughout the year. They practice living a life of balance and meaning with a commitment to daily meditation, prayer and service to others.
Vajra and Christina believe that yoga and meditation practices should be accessible to everyone, especially to communities that do not traditionally participate or have access to such practices. On Kauai, they are collaborating with Kumu Camp (anaholabeachreatreat.org) to bring such practices to Native Hawaiians.
